The Philippines, an enchanting archipelago surrounded by vast bodies of water, has always been renowned as a top destination for sun and beach tourism, making it one of the best countries for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts.

So, here’s how my scuba journey unfolded:

Setting the Scene:

The adventure kicked off on a Tuesday morning, November 2, 2023. An exciting invite landed in my palm for an overnight stay at Junior and Mesiang Cottages on Pamilacan Island in Bohol. The game plan? An early-bird dive experience at 6:00 am. I must admit, I was buzzing with excitement and a tad nervous.

Grinning through a mix of excitement and a hint of nerves – all set for the scuba diving adventure

Gear Up, Dive In:

They handed me all this scuba gear – flippers, tanks, the whole deal. And let me tell you, getting ready felt like gearing up for a space adventure. I’ve done a bit of free diving before, but this was a whole new ball game – staying underwater for a good half an hour. Got me a bit jittery, to be honest.

Once all set and a quick rundown from the instructor, off we went to the dive spot.

Underwater Magic:

Now, here’s the scoop – it was way cooler and comfier than I thought. I expected equalizing pressure in my ears to be a pain, but nope, it was a breeze. As we explored, the underwater world blew my mind. Colorful corals, fishes having a party, and feeling the soft sand under my feet – pure magic. I even got a bit sentimental, thinking back to my childhood dream of being a mermaid. Turns out, dreams do come true!

As a beginner scuba diver, you will be assisted with an expert that will guide you through the underwater journey.

The Wrap-Up:

That’s the lowdown on my first scuba dive. And you know what? This is just the start. The underwater world has hooked me, and I’m itching for more dive adventures. Stay tuned for more sea stories, my water-loving readers!
