In 2019, we attended the following travel trade events:
ITB Berlin 2019
Kapwa Travel was in attendance at ITB Berlin in 2019, which was held from 6-10 March. As usual, the venue for the event was the enormous Messe Berlin grounds, which feels more like the size of a small town than a convention center.
As first time exhibitors and delegates of the Philippine mission, we were impressed by the sheer size and logistics of the fair.
“The World’s Leading Travel Trade Show” was indeed abuzz with excitement and activity, with representatives and buyers from all over the world, as well as scheduled seminars, workshops and a multitude of networking opportunities.
With an attendance of approximately 113,500 trade visitors, we were certainly kept occupied and happy to make the new connections that we did.
We enjoyed it so much that we will be back for ITB Berlin 2020.
IMEX Frankfurt 2019
Another trade exhibition we opted to check out in 2019 was IMEX in Frankfurt, Germany. IMEX is a fair targeted at the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) section of the travel industry, and the largest of its type in Germany.
Held in the vibrant city of Frankfurt, it was a tremendous learning experience that gave us insights into the world of group tourism, especially for corporate incentives and events.
wtm London 2019
Our last-minute decision to join the World Travel Market in London turned out to be a very good one. Once again we were in attendance as co exhibitors in the Philippines booth with other delegates representing the country.
The Philippines booth proved to be popular with passers by, given the range of entertainment and refreshments provided – dancers in colourful native dress, a captivating mixologist serving up cocktails and charming baristas enticing all with the aromas of Filipino coffee.
There were approximately 5,000 trade exhibitors and around 51,000 visitors – another exciting event in one of the world’s most famous cities
In 2020, our team eagerly anticipated participating as a co-exhibitor at ITB, but unfortunately, the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, amidst the disappointment of ITB 2020, we are thrilled to announce our presence at the upcoming ITB 2024 event! After a five-year hiatus, Kapwa Travel is returning stronger than ever. Join us at the Messe Berlin, Germany, as we reunite with industry peers and connect with fellow travel enthusiasts. We can’t wait to see you there!
Stay tuned for more updates on upcoming events—we look forward to sharing more exciting opportunities with you soon!
Back in Berlin: A Recap of ITB 2024
In 2024, the Internationale Tourismus Börse (ITB) took place at the Messe Berlin, marking it as the largest convention of the year, with an anticipated turnout of 24,000 attendees. After an absence of nearly five years, Kapwa Travel made a triumphant return to this prestigious event. The three-day affair, held from March 5th to March 7th, 2024, proved to be a resounding success.
Representing Kapwa Travel at the Messe Berlin were Angel and Devie, who played pivotal roles in showcasing the company’s offerings and engaging with industry professionals and potential clients. Their presence underscored Kapwa Travel’s commitment to reestablishing its presence in the global tourism landscape and forging new partnerships and opportunities at the forefront of the travel industry.
Angel was the first to arrive at the venue, where she had the privilege of capturing a memorable moment with the talented Loboc Children's Choir, who were not only representing but also enchanting the guests with their performances.
Over the course of the three-day event, attendees experienced a memorable and prosperous occasion, marked by fruitful interactions and connections. Angel and Devie seized the opportunity to engage with a diverse array of potential partners, as well as reconnect with established ones, within the confines of their booth. Numerous individuals visited their booth, sparking insightful discussions about the various services offered by Kapwa Travel and exploring potential avenues for collaboration and expansion.
Undoubtedly, being part of this year’s largest travel show in Berlin, Germany, was an enriching and educational experience. Interacting with individuals who share an entrepreneurial mindset and a common commitment to sustainability presented an invaluable opportunity for collaboration and exchange. Engaging in discussions with like-minded individuals who prioritize environmental stewardship and ethical practices was not only fulfilling but also inspiring.
It was truly a pleasure to engage in business conversations within an atmosphere characterized by warm hospitality and genuine camaraderie. To all the co-exhibitors and buyers at ITB, Kapwa Travel and Tours Inc extends heartfelt gratitude for the enriching interactions and meaningful connections forged during the event. We eagerly anticipate the prospect of nurturing these relationships into fruitful partnerships and are excited about the potential collaborations that lie ahead.
Here’s to a promising future together, and we look forward to reconnecting with all of you at next year’s exhibit!
