How to Get to Mantayupan Falls in Barili, Cebu
Mantayupan Falls can be easily accessed from Cebu City proper. Regular bus trips are operated daily.
From Cebu South Terminal, ride a bus that travels to South Cebu via Barili road. The traveling time is approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, depending on the traffic. You will be dropped off at the designated bus stop at Barili Poblacion (town proper).
From the drop-off point, take a habal-habal (motorcycle for rent) going to the waterfalls, about 3.7 km from the town proper.
What to Expect at Mantayupan Falls: The Tallest Waterfall in Cebu
Mantayupan Falls has two levels. The first level is the shorter waterfall measuring 14 meters high while the second level measures 98 meters high – the tallest in Cebu. Both levels are only a short comfortable walk from the main entrance.

There’s not a lot of tourists on this spot. It is not as hyped as Kawasan Falls in Badian. It is one of those secret places that are not often mentioned so there’s no wonder why not a lot of tourists are drawn to this place.

At Mantayupan, you’ll see two beautiful waterfalls and pay only one entrance fee of only Php 40. In case you want to swim farther, there are also life vests for rent at Php 20 each.

Crossing the hanging bridge is a nice experience. This “legit” hanging bridge is probably the biggest and sturdiest hanging bridge you’ll see in the entire Cebu. As you cross the hanging bridge, you’ll see a good glimpse of the waterfall directly in front of you. Unlike most waterfalls that require an adventurous trek, Mantayupan Falls is easily accessed from the main entrance and parking lot.
There is a small canteen inside the attraction that sells decent snacks and beverages. There is also a grilling station, perfect for those wanting a picnic experience on the site. Local vendors are also stationed near the parking lot. At Mantayupan, you can expect simple local foods on your visit.
There are no cottages here. In case you want to stay longer, there are only shaded areas on the rocks where you can rest or enjoy some picnics after a good bath.
The area has a basic comfort room and a small shower room. Opposite the comfort room, you will see a good display of tropical plants that are for sale at an affordable price. You might want to bring home some potted plants as a take-home souvenir.
