Tourists and surfers all over the world visit the island. Many daring water athletes compete in the annual international surfing championship here. Around Siargao Island, there are several islands such as Guyam island, also called “Hamburger Island” because of its round shape. “Dako Island” and numerous sandbanks with the finest sandy beaches. Getting to Siargao<\/h2>\n

Traveling to Siargao Island is mostly done by plane from either Cebu City(Mactan International Airport) or Manila. There are several daily departures from both airports, especially in high season. It is also possible to get a ferry from Surigao City in Mindanao. The ferry connections go several times a day and can be booked spontaneously. Depending on the boat and the waves, the crossing from Surigao City takes about 2-4 hours.<\/p>\n
