Experience Northern Luzon and Romblon island

This tour combines a five-day Northern Luzon tour with a subsequent trip to Romblon Island. You will experience the rice terraces in Banaue and Batad, the hanging coffins of Sagada and Baguio City on Luzon. Romblon offers beautiful beaches, along with incredible island adventures. Please note that just like our other tours, we can customize the travel itinerary for you.

Day 1

Start of the North Luzon round trip
In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel in Manila, where we will take the highway directly to Pampanga, where the Church of San Guillermo is located, the church is known for being halfway buried in lahar (A wet mass of volcanic fragments flowing rapidly downhill. Lahar usually contain ash, breccia, and boulders mixed with rainwater or with river or lake water displaced by the lava flow associated with the volcano.) The church is a historical testimony of Pinatubo’s last eruption in 1991.
Afterwards you will continue to experience a diverse landscape, crossing the former flood area of ​​the volcano. The Dalton Pass, (which is a zigzag road and mountain pass connecting two provinces in northern Luzon) then heads up to Banaue, where you will stay at the well-known Banaue Hotel.

Day 2

You can choose between Batad or Hapao / Hiwang
Either you make your way to Batad, which is considered the best spot to see the rice terraces. Or you can get on a four-wheel drive on adventurous roads to Hapao.
In the evening you will return to the Banaue Hotel.

Day 3

Transfer to Sagada
Today we will travel from Banaue to Bontoc, where you will experience the notorious Halsema Highway with its breathtaking gorges. Farmers from all over the Cordillera region use this road to distribute their goods. Visit the remarkable museum in Bontoc, to see exhibits of the surrounding mountainous regions.

Afterwards you will drive to Sagada, where another highlight awaits! “The Hanging Coffins” in the Echo Valley. There is rich opportunity to shoot great photos in this spectacular mountainous world. You will spend an adventurous night in this atmosphere at the Rusty Nail Inn, incl. breakfast.

Day 4

Baguio City
After breakfast, go on a discovery tour and explore other attractions such as the large caves and a hike across the rice fields. It is also possible to go on a mountain hike including a trip to the waterfalls, in this case an additional overnight stay in Sagada would make sense – we will take this into consideration when planning your trip.

Around noon we continue on the Halsema Highway to the cool northern city of Baguio City, through a fascinating mountain landscape, past picturesque vegetable and salad fields, which will provide a great setting for colorful photos. Here you will stay in a hotel in Baguio incl. Breakfast.

Day 5

Return to Manila
After breakfast, explore Baguio City, the former summer residence of the Philippine government, who escaped the hot summer months and came here until the mid-1970s. The pleasantly cool climate ensures that there are numerous fruits and vegetables that can only be found in this region.

You will visit beautiful parks and colorful markets, where goods from the Central Cordilleras (mountain range) can be found, including jewelry, carvings and other souvenirs. Around noon you will head back to Manila. In the evening you will be staying in a Deluxe room incl. Breakfast at a guesthouse in Manila.

Day 6

Transfer to Romblon Island
After breakfast, you will head to the airport and go to Tablas. Once there, a van will pick you up, and take you to San Agustin. From there, a typical Filipino Bangka (Filipino boat) will take you to Romblon Island.

You will be greeted by your local guide, who will pick you up at the pier and take you to the Townhouse – the perfect base for more adventures on the island.

Day 7

Off to the beach!
After a long transfer day, explore the small town on your own and make a trip to the “Bonbon Beach”. Around the island you will find some more beautiful beaches that are well worth a visit. Organising additional trips on short notice is not a problem. You will once again stay in the beautiful townhouse in Romblon

Day 8

Island tour on Romblon
Romblon is known as the “marble capital” of the Philippines, and in the course of an island tour you will definitely see why. Whether you visit the local marble quarry, churches and other attractions or local souvenir shops – everywhere you will find beautiful marble.

But there are many more highlights waiting for you, such as the historic Fort San Andres, a waterfall and beautiful spots for snorkeling. If you are interested, there are also scuba diving or freediving opportunities.

Day 9

Relaxation on the last day on Romblon Island
Relax on your last day, stroll around in the small town and buy some nice souvenirs. During the last days you will surely have already made some acquaintances with the locals who are especially friendly here. Maybe you can enjoy a dinner in one of the restaurants in the neighborhood?

Day 10

Return to Manila
Today you will say goodbye to Romblon, and return to Manila. Once there, you will spend another night in the beautiful Henry Hotel, incl breakfast, which is a nice ending to your trip to the Philippines.

Day 11

Farewell to the Philippines
After a delicious breakfast, transfer to the airport and head home.
